Watauga Lake Tennessee is nestled in the Appalachian Mountains and the Cherokee National Forest.  Watauga Lake is a TVA reservoir that was created from three rivers in the 1940’s. This TN mountain lake covers just over ten square miles in Johnson and Carter Counties and offers 104.9 miles of shoreline.
